ARRANGEMENTS FOR MONDAY 30th NOVEMBER

As you are aware, we have been notified of 4 positive cases of Covid-19 in our Rang 4 & Rang 7 classes. As a result, the children & staff in both of these classes will be self-isoalting until & including Wednesday 9th December. This means that the children in Rang 4&7 will be taught via our remote learning platforms and will return to school on Thursday 10th December.

Thankfully, we have not had any new cases of Covid-19 over the weekend. I have been in contact with the Public Health Agency, Education Authority and Department of Education and hope to receive updated guidance tomorrow regarding the rest of the school.

ALL CLASSES should remain at home and participate in REMOTE LEARNING TOMORROW, until further advice has been received.

The NAÍSCOIL will open as usual and will operate independant of any restrictions placed on the Gaelscoil. It is vitally important that if your child feels unwell, especially if they complain of a cough, high temperature or loss of taste and smell, that you book them a Covid test and inform the school of the results. It is also worth noting that the main symptom displayed by one of the children who tested positive was a severe headache - please watch out for this also.

I thank you all for your support in recent days and pledge that both myself, our staff and the governors of our school will take all necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of everyone in our school community. If you need to contact me this evening regarding a sick child, please send an e-mail to gaelscoilaodharua@yahoo.ie, quoting your mobile number and I will call you back. The school office will be open from 9am tomorrow morning if you need to call. Please do not ring asking for additional information. I will post all additional guidance here as soon as I have it.

Please keep those affected by Covid in our school community in your prayers and say an extra wee prayer for a very special Granda in our school community, who we are all very fond of, who is in hospital at this time.
