PILLEADH AR SCOIL / RETURN TO SCHOOL

14th Aug 2021

PILLEADH AR SCOIL / RETURN TO SCHOOL

Dia daoibh a chairde!

The Department of Education / Education Authority have not yet finalised the guidance regarding our return to school, but we are very conscious of the fact that parents / guardians need time to get organised. Please see details below:

Pupils in Rang 1-3 will NOT need a school-bag.

Pupils in Rang 4-7 WILL need a school-bag, big enough for an A4 folder.

Lunch-boxes should be hard plastic & wipeable.

Uniform Requirements were detailed in the letter which was issued with the reports:

  • On our return to school, children will be expected to wear their school uniform as usual and the relaxations in place last year will no longer apply.
  • We ask that the school jumper and t-shirt are purchased from Kelly’s Drapery, so that the t-shirts are all the same shade of yellow.
  • You can purchase navy school trousers (not jogging bottoms) and navy skirts / pinafores from a shop of your choosing.
  • Please do not purchase a school coat, as they are too easily mixed up at the end of the school day and often get misplaced.
  • Also, we hope that Begleys Sports will be stocking our PE kit from this year on – details will follow in early September.

Rang 1

Our new Rang 1 children will also begin on Wednesday 1st September but not until 10am (late start on the first day only) and will remain at school until 12 noon for the first few weeks, to help them settle in.

Again, a letter with an invitation to our 'Parents' Induction Meeting' and further more specific details pertaining to Rang 1 will be issued next week.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer and we will see you all on Wednesday 1st September.
