Naíscoil Aodha Rua celebrated its 20th birthday this year, having provided Irish Medium pre-school education in the Dungannon area since 1997.

We cater for children in their 'pre-school' year and act as a feeder nursery for Gaelscoil Aodha Rua. 

We have three full-time staff and our maximum capacity is 24 children.

Our aim is to provide a safe, secure, stimulating learning environment for our pupils, where they can develop the skills needed to prepare them for entry to primary education.

We use a topic / thematic based appraoch to learning and follow seven areas of learning:

Language Development

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Physical Development (fine & gross motorskills)

World Around Us

Irish Language Acquisition

The curriculum is delivered via carefully planned play-based activities and staff observe each child's progress regularly, to enable them to devise and plan future activities to meet each child's learning needs. Staff make effective use of songs, rhymes and a range of gestures and facial expressions to help the children to develop an understanding and basic word-based vocabulary in Irish.
